DENVER—June 16, 2014—A summer tradition returns! The Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Denver Film Society are partnering to present the fourth annual Sci-Fi Film Series this summer.

 

Beginning Wednesday, July 9, the series will feature a lineup of five science fiction films, hosted by Museum scientists and Vincent Piturro, English and film professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Post-screening discussions will break down the science behind these alternative possibilities and separate fact from fiction.

-Venues: Phipps IMAX Theater at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Sie FilmCenter at the Denver Film Society
-$12 Museum or DFS member, $15 nonmember, $8 student
-$50 series member, $65 series nonmember

Wednesday, July 9: Upstream Color with health scientist Nicole Garneau, Sie FilmCenter

Wednesday, July 16: Journey to the Center of the Earth with earth scientist James Hagadorn, Sie FilmCenter

Wednesday, July 23: Europa Report with space scientist Ka Chun Yu, Sie FilmCenter

Wednesday, July 30: Alien with invertebrate zoologist Paula Cushing, Phipps IMAX Theater

Wednesday, August 6: Gravity with space scientist Steve Lee, Phipps IMAX Theater
