Denver Museum of Nature & Science Launches Space Junk 3D

New IMAX Film Kicks Off with Premiere Event July 13

Denver-July 2, 2012-The Denver Museum of Nature & Science invites visitors to cool off at the Museum this summer and experience the new IMAX film, Space Junk 3D.  The film-opening Friday, July 13-explores the exponentially expanding ring of debris that threatens the safety of our planet's orbits.

Space Junk 3D is a visually explosive, sensory-expanding voyage into our now-threatened "final frontier." Viewers will soar from the stunning depths of Meteor Crater in Arizona to an unprecedented view of our increasingly crowded orbits-22,000 miles above Earth and experience mindboggling collisions, both natural and human-made.

Premiere Event

Friday, July 13, 8 p.m. $12 member, $15 nonmember, $8 child (ages 3-12)

Watch Space Junk 3D and following the film, hear from a panel of experts, including the "father of space junk," Don Kessler, longtime head of NASA's Orbital Debris Program. The panel will discuss how space debris is tracked and how space-faring nations can be engaged to implement solutions. Cosponsored by the Museum and the Secure World Foundation.

Show Times

Beginning July 13, Space Junk 3D will play daily at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. with additional show times on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.  Visit /imax/current-films for ticket prices and other details.
