DENVER ― Aug. 2 ― The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is a proud co-sponsor and host site for the fifth Americas Latino Eco-Festival, Sept. 15 – 17, recognized as the largest multicultural event of its kind.
“This year’s festival is more urgent than ever,” said Irene Vilar, founder of Americas for Conservation + the Arts and Americas Latino Eco-Festival. “Our gathering comes at an historic moment of unprecedented threats to our communities' health and to our planet. Now, more than ever, Latinos and communities of color need to raise their voices for the protection of our children’s future, which depends on our Madre Tierra’s own health and the responsible stewardship of her natural resources.”
This event creates a space that elevates the voices of communities of color and of women in conservation and cultural leadership fostering collaboration to better tackle environmental problems and search for solutions. Arte y cultura are used to explore environmental issues through visual art, films, live performances, artist interactions and activities for families and children to message environmental awareness and shared values.
