Museum will offer free admission to military personnel and their families Memorial Day through Labor Day
DENVER―May 22―The Denver Museum of Nature & Science announces its participation in the Blue Star Museums program, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free general admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel, including the National Guard Reserve, and up to five members of their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2017.
The program provides families with an opportunity to enjoy the nation’s cultural heritage and learn more about their new community after a military move. Active duty military personnel and their families may take advantage of this program at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science from May 29 to Sept. 4.
“As a United States Air Force veteran, I am proud that the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is part of this collaboration. We look forward to helping military families form connections within their communities and welcoming them into our Museum throughout the summer,” said George Sparks, president and CEO of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
“The Blue Star Museums program is a fun, free activity for military families to enjoy during the summer months,” said NEA Chairman Jane Chu. “The program is also a great way for service member families to reconnect after deployment. The Blue Star Museums program is a perfect way for the arts community to say ‘thank you’ to our service members and their families for the sacrifices they make on our behalf, every day.”
