DENVERThe Denver Museum of Nature & Science is pleased to announce Freeda Warren as vice president of development and marketing. Warren brings more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and marketing, and is recognized as a visionary leader. Her first day will be on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.

“We are thrilled that Freeda chose to join the Museum team, and we are looking forward to introducing her to our Colorado community,” said George Sparks, Denver Museum of Nature & Science president and CEO. “We set out to find someone with expertise in a number of areas, and are excited to have Freeda leading our fundraising, membership and marketing efforts.”

Most recently, Warren served as national director of philanthropy at Genesys Works, whose mission is to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences and impactful relationships. As a fundraising consultant for many years, she also served as the director of development for Lawndale Christian Legal Center, Sinai Health System and Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy.

Warren earned her bachelor's degree in African American Studies and U.S. History from UC Davis, and her juris doctorate from Seattle University School of Law.

Warren serves on the board of Chicago Women in Philanthropy and is a fundraising volunteer for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Chicago Metropolitan Chapter. She is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals continuing education committee.

“Joining the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is an honor,” Warren says. “Having spent most of my career raising millions of dollars for all great organizations with incredible missions, I now have the privilege to offer my services, talents, skills and passion to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  This position allows me to bring the full breadth of my training, education and experience to an organization whose mission is dear to me. The ability to raise funds for the Museum to expand its reach and share the joy of nature and science with so many individuals is undoubtedly an honor.  I am excited to join such a dynamic team that has the community's interest at the core of everything they do.”
