The Denver Museum of Nature & Science Presents Genghis Khan Through February 7, 2010

Meet the World's Greatest Conqueror, Named by Time and the Washington Post as the "Most Important Person of the Last Millennium."

Explore the culture, conquests, and heritage of the world's greatest conqueror, when the treasures and stories of Genghis Khan's 13th-century Mongol Empire are presented in Denver for the first time. The Genghis Khan exhibition, at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science from October 16, 2009, through February 7, 2010, offers an adventure in the vast grassland of Central Asia, amid the relics of Genghis Khan's reign. View rare treasures from 13th-century Mongolia; more than 200 spectacular objects will be on display to illustrate this story, including gold jewelry and ornaments, silk robes, musical instruments, pottery, sophisticated weaponry, and numerous other fascinating relics and elaborate artifacts.

ADMISSION AND PARKING
Tickets to Genghis Khan offer a passport to the immersive cultural and historical world of Genghis Khan's 13th-century Mongolia, and include general admission to the Museum and free parking. General visitors pay $20 for adults and $11 for children (3-18) and seniors (65+); members pay $8 for adults and $5 for children (3-18) and seniors (65+). Tickets are available on October 1 and advance reservations are strongly encouraged. The Museum is closed on December 25.

See the largest collection ever assembled of the treasures of Genghis Khan, including artifacts from the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.

ORGANIZER
The exhibition was organized by Don Lessem, author and president of Exhibits Rex, Inc., with curatorial consultation by two leading Genghis Khan experts and scholars, Dr. William Fitzhugh of the Smithsonian Institution and Dr. Morris Rossabi of Columbia University. Lessem developed Genghis Khan in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Lenders include the National Museum of Mongolian History, the Institute of Archaeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the National Library of Mongolia, the Military Museum of Mongolia, the Dornod Province Museum in Mongolia, the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the Kooros and Gotuaco families, the Xinhuan Collection, and Arthur Leeper.
